DJ Day (Damien Beebe), is a Palm Springs native known for his unique blend of hip-hop, jazz, funk, soul, and electronic music. A DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, he incorporates classic sampling, turntablism, and live instrumentation into his signature sound.
Influenced by artists like Herbie Hancock and DJ Jazzy Jeff, Day began honing his skills as a teenager. In 1995, he co-founded the Innernational Crew with DJ Rip One. This collective of DJs, MCs, b-boys and graffiti artists became a fixture in the Southern California hip-hop scene, participating in events like Radiotron and gaining recognition in publications like URB Magazine.
His extensive global tours have taken him to numerous countries across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific, including multiple visits to Brazil, Germany, Russia, France, Japan, China, Australia, and New Zealand. He has shared stages with a wide array of artists, from Amy Winehouse and Eminem to Cortex and Marcos Valle, reflecting his wide-ranging musical taste.
DJ Day's production discography showcases his varied musical talents. His albums include The Day Before (featuring Aloe Blacc), Land of 1000 Chances (which garnered critical acclaim, including a 4-star review from Q Magazine and a feature in XXL), and Life After You (which reached the top 10 on KCRW's Top 30 Albums chart). He has also released numerous EPs, singles, and remixes. Among his notable works are his solo tracks like "Four Hills," as well as the collaborative album Nรกufrago with Thes One of People Under the Stairs.
He toured as the scratch DJ for the 2024 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live in Concert North American tour, performing the score live with a full orchestra in 56 cities. He regularly attends DJ Jazzy Jeff's PLAYLIST Retreat, an invitation-only event bringing together DJs, producers, musicians, and influential figures from across the music industry and beyond for collaborative sessions and workshops. He's also performed at world-renowned parties like The Do-Over and Bastid's BBQ, and held a six-year weekly residency, Reuniรณn, at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club Palm Springs (2010-2016)
